The Long Kiss in the Bahamas Itinerary

Endless Caribbean - The Long Kiss in the Bahamas Itinerary

The Long Kiss in the Bahamas itinerary was developed with the assistance of a tourism student of the University of the West Indies’ St. Augustine campus, as part of the Endless Caribbean internship programme

There is always time for love in the Caribbean. Have you ever dreamed of spending a couple of days in luxurious tropical destination with your sweetheart? Although I live in Barbados, spending time away from home in a beautiful Caribbean island is one of my bucket list items. Maybe, just like me, you’ve dreamed of a place where the waters are clear, the landscapes are lush and blooming and the resorts are luxurious and relaxing. This can describe almost all of the luxury resorts in the Caribbean, but I believe that the Bahamas is where you need to make your dreams come true.

The Bahamas

The Bahamas is one of the most sought-after Caribbean destinations for tourists in the United States of America. It is a short 45-minute flight from the Miami International Airport, a hub that offers connections to anywhere in the United States and the rest of the world. This chain of islands in the Atlantic Ocean consist of over 700 land masses. However, only thirty of these islands are inhabited. The combination of cays and islands are spread over a 500-mile area that stretches from the east coast of Florida to the northern coasts of Cuba and Hispaniola.

Of the inhabited islands, favourite destinations for visitors include Cat Island, Exuma, Grand Bahama, New Providence (home of the capital city Nassau) and Paradise Island. Paradise Island, which more than lives up to its name is connected to New Providence by two bridges. It is a couple’s dream destination because of its many resorts, restaurants, activities and nightlife. On this island lies the luxurious Four Seasons Resort The Ocean Club, the feature of the Long Kiss in the Bahamas itinerary. The resort also offers a complimentary fourth night when you book a three-night stay.

Detailed Itinerary

When you touch down at the Lynden Pindling International Airport, your bodies and minds should already be in relaxation mode.  As you take a 30-minute drive to the resort, take in the gorgeous sights on the beautiful Paradise Island.

Day 1: The Four Seasons Resort The Ocean Club

On your arrival at The Four Seasons Resort The Ocean Club in time for the 3:00 PM check in, you will fully understand why this is the best resort for the Long Kiss in the Bahamas itinerary. The Four Seasons Resort, The Ocean Club is a Caribbean luxury resort that has been a favourite with couples since 1962. The resort has perfected the art of romantic accommodations through its innovative approach to luxury vacations. The hotel itself is a beautiful property that features intimate and unobtrusive low-rise buildings set amongst Versailles-inspired landscaping.

The Luxury Ocean Front Suite is the perfect option for couples. These rooms are exclusive domains, just steps from the beach. Rooms reflect traditional Bahamian décor and feature interior designs by famed hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany. Each Luxury Ocean Front Suite has a private terrace or private balcony that allows for direct ocean views.

After check-in, you will enjoy a Couples Coconut Poultice Massage, which will soothe and nourish your bodies and help you to relax and release tension. Following the massage, indulge in the in-room dining service, the Romance Delivery. In addition to a plentiful array of dinner options, you will be served complimentary wine and strawberries by a private butler.

Day 2: Unwind and Relax

To start your first full day on Paradise Island, a fresh and delicious breakfast at Dune is recommended. Dune is a French-Asian restaurant that presents delectable food creations by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, a Michelin-starred chef. Breakfast time is from 7:00 am to 10:00 am and features three packages – American, Continental, Healthy Start, Lighter Fare and A La Carte. Sides, juices, coffee and organic teas are also available.  After breakfast, you will relax and soak up the sun at the adults-only Versailles Pool. However, if you prefer, there are relaxing hammocks throughout the gardens in the resort.

For lunch, you will leave the pool and have lunch at Versailles Terrace. This is a French-Mediterranean fusion restaurant that is located alongside the pool and the gardens. Lunch is available from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The lunch menu has various appetizers, salads, sandwiches and flatbreads and main courses.

When your food has settled nicely, you will be treated to an Elemis Couture Touch Experience. The personalized deep tissue massage caters to couples, so that you can enjoy this experience side by side.

Then, in the evening you will enjoy a private and romantic dinner for two in the beautiful and tranquil Versailles Garden. Complimentary wine and strawberries in your room will close off your romantic evening.

Day 3: Unplug and Reconnect

To take your Long Kiss in the Bahamas experience over the top, you will have breakfast in the luxury of your suite. After breakfast, break a sweat by engaging in a few rounds of tennis. Just before lunch time, transition to the Dune to savour iconic Bahamian cocktails and signature drinks.

Enjoy today’s lunch from the comfort of your room. Then, follow up with a relaxing stroll along the private eight-kilometer white sand beach on the hotel’s beachfront. Alternatively, you can opt for a calming swim or lounge on the beach. This is a sweet precursor to a romantic candle dinner on the beach. Strawberries and wine in your room are a nice touch to close out the day.

Day 4: The Long Kiss Goodbye

Wrap up your Long Kiss in the Bahamas vacation by enjoying some of the highlights of your stay. Spend some time savouring your breakfast at the Dune before retreating to your room to pack. In the middle of the morning, you will enjoy some light snacks via room service. After that, at 12:00 p.m. you will check out and head to the Lynden Pindling International Airport via hotel shuttle.
