The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) will be hosting its inaugural Virtual Product Showcase for travel advisors based in Canada. The event, which comes off on 20 Jul 2021 from 1 to 3 p.m. is an opportunity to hear about the latest developments in Jamaica. It will also be an opportunity to connect with travel professionals including suppliers and service providers.
The JTB will host the Virtual Product Showcase on Zoom. Angela Bennett, Regional Director of the Jamaica Tourist Board’s Canada office is excited about the event. She sees it as an engaging platform where Canadian travel agents can share experiences, learn more about the destination, network with each other, play games and win prizes. In addition, there will be presentations and breakout rooms. Key tourism partners including Air Canada Vacations, WestJet, Sunwing Vacations, TravelBrands, Ocean Hotels, Blue Diamond Resorts, Tryall Club, and Transat Tours will be in attendance.
This showcase is only one of several initiatives for Canadian travel agents. One example is the Nice Up Yu Yaad photo challenge from June 2021. Agents had to transform their backyards into a Jamaican oasis and submit photos. Additionally, there is an ongoing Jamaica Short Story Contest (entries close on 15 August 2021) in which travel agents have to write a short story (1,000 words or less) about their favourite Jamaican memories.
