Frontier Airlines, an ultra-low fare carrier is launching new flights to the Caribbean. The airline is now offering nonstop services from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan (SJU) to the Grantley Adams International Airport (BDI) in Barbados and the Cibao International Airport in Santiago de los Caballeros (STI) in the Dominican Republic.
Josh Flyr, Vice President of Network and Operations Design, anticipates “an exciting and potentially record-breaking summer travel season.” He believes that the expansion of Frontier’s route map will provide “more affordable and convenient travel options for consumers across the U.S., Caribbean and beyond.”
Frontier’s New Flights to the Caribbean
The details of the new flight services are below:
- SJU to STI (Dominican Republic): Starts 14 June 2024 and will fly 3 times per week
- SJU to BGI (Barbados): Starts on 03 July 2024 and will fly 3 times per week
These new flights will also be eligible for Frontier’s frequent flyer program FRONTIER miles. Customers can earn miles on every dollar spent on Frontier products. For every $1 spent, 10 miles are rewarded. Fliers who reach elite status will benefit from a number of benefits which include no change or cancel fees, priority boarding, and free seat selection.
Baggage Terms and Conditions
Passengers who book a flight on Frontier can travel with one (1) personal item free of cost. Personal items include purses, totes, computer bags, briefcases, diaper bags and children’s backpacks. All other luggage is fee-based:
Carry-On: Allowable carry-on bags should be 35 pounds in weight, including handles, wheels and straps. Dimensions for carry-ons are 24″H X 16″W X 10″D. Carry-on baggage fees start at USD 57.
Checked Bags: Checked bags should be a maximum of 62 linear inches (length x width x depth) including handles, wheels, and straps. The maximum allowable weight for each checked bag is 40 pounds (18.1 kilograms).
- 1st Checked Bag: Starts at USD 57 (price available during booking)
- 2nd Checked Bag: Starts at USD 77 (price available during booking)
- 3rd + Checked Bag: Starts at USD 97 (price available during booking)
