Delta Launches New Routes to the Caribbean

Delta is expanding its reach into the sunshine with new routes to the Caribbean. These new routes will originate from hubs in Atlanta (ATL), John F. Kennedy International (JFK) and Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP). Destinations are Barbados, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. The airline will also be adding more flights to Curacao.

As a result of this boost in flights, Delta will serve a total of 50 cities in the Caribbean and Latin America. And, they will allow for connections from almost 200 cities around the world.

Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning said that “Delta is establishing vital connections from Atlanta and across the U.S. that allow our customers to reach their dream vacation destinations with ease.” He also explained that customers will have a choice of up to 1,000 weekly flights to the Caribbean and Latin America.

Barbados

There will be new services from Atlanta (ATL) and New York (JFK) to Barbados (BGI). The ATL service will begin in November 2024, whilst the JFK service will begin in December 2024.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

The new daily service from Atlanta (ATL) to Puerto Plata (POP) will begin in November 2024.

Curacao

Delta will also be increasing its Curacao flights. There will now be a daily service from Atlanta to Curacao, which will begin in November 2023.

Aircraft

The new and expanded routes will operate on Delta’s Boeing 737-800. Travellers will have First Class, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin options. Delta is currently engaged in a project to refresh some of its classes in Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

First Class will receive an improved premium experience such has new seats, more privacy, additional storage space and enhanced comfort. Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin will receive new 10-inch Panasonic seatback screens which will enable guests to access free premium entertainment. Additionally, lavatories will receive upgrades that include touchless features.
