In May 2023, Bonaire participated in the Caribbean Latin Workshop which was held in Ghent, Belgium. The event was an opportunity for travel professionals to showcase their tourism offerings and network with others from around the world. This was the third edition of the workshop and it attracted more than ninety travel professionals from around the world.
The event began with a welcome speech by Lieven Bossaert from Travelworld. Travelworld plans and manages tours in the Caribbean, Asian, Middle East, Indian Ocean, and other areas around the world. Bossaert told participants that although the Caribbean’s luxury all-inclusive resorts are nice, the real beauty is in the tours and the unique experiences.
Booking.comBonaire’s participation at the workshop was beneficial to the island’s strategy of attracting visitors from the Belgian market. The island was represented by Marjolein Oleana and Annette Emerenciana from the Tourism Corporation Bonaire. In their presentation, they shared some of the exciting aspects of the islands. Attendees learnt about Bonaire’s culture and authenticity, food and beverages, attractions, and activities.
Cadushy Distillery provided special sponsorship for the Bonaire presentation. During the presentation, guests were treated to tastings of the Bonaire spiced rum, Rom Rincon. The Cadushy Distillery is an artesian distillery that is the brainchild of Eric Gietman. In addition to Rom Rincon, the distillery produces vodka, gin, whisky, and liqueurs.
About the Caribbean Latin Workshop
The Caribbean Latin Workshop is a travel tradeshow for destinations, travel agents, tourism service providers, hotel chains and cruise lines from the Caribbean, Latin America and the rest of the world. The event consists of several activities including presentations, tastings, and speed dating sessions. During the speed dating sessions, travel agents learn about the latest product offers and developments in the participating destinations and hotels.
