The 11th Anegada Lobster Festival will kick off on 26 November 2023. The three-day event on the island of Anegada in the British Virgin Islands is a highly anticipated event for food lovers. At the heart of the festival are freshly caught spiny lobsters that will be used in tasty and creative dishes. The one-of-a-kind festival will also feature 12 restaurants and the islands’ rich culinary offerings.
Anegada Lobster Festival
The 2023 edition of the festival will be held from 24 – 26 November 2023. It is the first event in the British Virgin Islands’ culinary event calendar, BVI Food Fete. Attendees will get to sample lobster dishes at each restaurant as well as staples on the participating restaurants’ menus.
The newly opened Main Street Restaurant was the launch site of the BVI Food Fete. In the past, BVI Food Fete was a series of gastronomic events all held in the month of November. However, the BVI Tourist Board and Film Commission decided to spread the events throughout the year. This will help promote BVI culture to international audiences year-round.
Director of Tourism in the BVI, Clive McCoy, emphasized the importance of showcasing the territory’s culinary offerings. He acknowledged some of the unique foods in the islands and explained that through festivals like the BVI Food Fete, they are giving visitors the option to taste their food and experience their culture.
